COVID-19 Update

Following the Prime Minister’s address on 23/03/20 there has been uncertainty amongst our customers over the first week of lock down regarding the availability of services to the construction, quarrying and waste sectors. We are therefore updating our customers accordingly.

Cromwell Mining Consultants are still trading as normal and will continue to do so unless a clear instruction to the contrary is distributed by the Government. We as a company are respectful of the current situation the country is in and we are of course following the guidelines set out by the Prime Minister for the good of ourselves, our families, customers and the wider population. Like many other companies we are constantly reviewing our working practices to ensure everyone remains healthy and safe.

Our staff are working from home with availability of the database and files located on the premises in our office. We have currently a ban on meetings at the office and any site visits have been postponed unless safe distancing can be observed or the site can be visited without working with another person on site other than signing in.

Our ability to continue providing a site service is also dependent on our suppliers doing the same and as such standard lead times are subject to review and potential change.

We respectfully ask all visitors do not attend our office but contact us by telephone, email or skype. Our site operatives are aware that you too may be introducing more stringent measures and to closely follow the procedures you have in place, which may change on a daily basis as the Covid-19 crisis deepens, and will comply with your requirements.

We intend to undertake most of the office work associated with our projects, such as planning applications, waste management plans, permit applications, coal mining risk assessments, phase 1 environmental desk top audits, reserve assessments, mine and quarry design and drainage reports.

During these unprecedented times we hope all of our customers and their staff are staying healthy and safe and we hope the steps we are all taking to basically quarantine ourselves, will help the country return to normality as soon as possible. It seems that most of the people in this region are abiding by the rules, looking at the volume of traffic on the roads, the number of passengers on trains and more people taking exercise.

The construction, quarrying and waste sectors can self-distance with the correct procedures and as long as visits are directly to the site and there are no detours or other stops, then some semblance of working life can carry on.

We are monitoring the situation closely and if there are any changes we will advise you accordingly. Please also advise us if the situation in your company changes in any way.

Finally, we are available during normal office hours throughout this pandemic period for advice and assistance in any project that you have and will continue to progress the projects we have been instructed on, over the next few months.
